Who we are and what this covers

GuestMetric is a product of [Tekmaze legal entity name] ("Tekmaze", "we", "us"). Our mailing address is [mailing address].

This policy covers guestmetric.com and the information you give us through it, for example when you ask for a demo. It does not cover other websites we link to, and it does not replace the agreements that govern the GuestMetric platform itself (see below).

This website vs. the GuestMetric platform

There are two very different kinds of data in our world, and it helps to keep them apart.

  • Website data is what this policy is mostly about: the contact details you type into a form and the ordinary technical records a web server keeps.
  • Platform data is the operational data the GuestMetric platform processes inside our customers' restaurants: service events, timings, counts, interaction categories, incident records and, in limited cases, saved video or audio clips. We process that data on behalf of the restaurant brands and operators who are our customers, under written agreements with them. Those customers decide how it is used and who can see it. The platform section summarizes how it works.

Information we collect on this website

Information you give us

When you request a demo or contact us, we collect what you enter in the form: your name, work email address, phone number and extension, the brand or company you are with, the type of organization, the number of locations in your system, your role, which product you asked about, and your message. The name, email, phone, company, organization type, location count and message are required; the rest is optional.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. These record the IP address of the device that requested a page, the date and time, the page or file requested, the browser and operating system reported by the device, and the referring page if any. We use these logs for security and to keep the site working. We do not combine them with the information you give us in a form unless we need to investigate abuse of the site.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking tools. The walkout calculator on the homepage runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing to us. Our hosting provider may set a cookie that is strictly necessary to deliver the site; it is not used to track you across other websites. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

Information from other sources

If you contact us, we may look at publicly available information about your company, such as its website, to prepare for a conversation with you. We do not buy personal information about website visitors from data brokers.

How we use it

We use the information described above to:

  • reply to your request, schedule and run a demo, and answer your questions;
  • follow up about GuestMetric if you asked us to, by email or phone, at the contact details you gave us;
  • keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems;
  • understand which parts of the site are useful, based only on server logs;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use website data to make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it to train artificial-intelligence models.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who help us run this site and our business and are allowed to use the information only to provide their service to us: our web hosting provider, our email provider, and, if we engage one, a customer-relationship system used to keep track of conversations with prospective customers.
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, when needed.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, a court order or a government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Tekmaze, our customers or others.
  • Business transfers, if Tekmaze or the GuestMetric business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case the information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and demo requests for as long as we are in conversation with you and for up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can pick a conversation back up if you return. If a business relationship begins, your details become part of our customer records and are kept under the terms of that agreement. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short rolling period, typically no more than 90 days. We may keep information longer when the law requires it or when it is needed to resolve a dispute.

How we protect it

The website is served only over HTTPS. Form submissions are sent to us by authenticated, encrypted email. The site does not load scripts or content from third-party domains, and its security headers prevent it from being embedded in other sites. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the kind of information we handle. If you believe you have found a security problem with this site, please see our responsible disclosure note.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you. We extend these choices to every visitor, wherever you are, as a matter of practice.

  • Know and access: ask what personal information we have about you and receive a copy.
  • Correct: ask us to fix information that is inaccurate.
  • Delete: ask us to delete your information, subject to exceptions the law allows (for example, where we need it to complete a transaction you requested or to comply with a legal obligation).
  • Portability: receive the information you gave us in a usable format.
  • Opt out: of the sale of personal information, sharing for targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do none of these, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out request in any case.
  • No discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
  • Appeal: if we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our response, and we will explain the outcome.

How to make a request

Email info@guestmetric.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line, or write to us at the mailing address above. We will need enough information to confirm it is really you, usually by replying from the email address we have on file. We respond within the time the applicable law requires, and generally within 45 days. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf if they provide written permission from you and we can verify your identity.

Notice for California residents

In the preceding twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information from website visitors: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); professional information (company, role, organization type, system size); and internet activity (server logs). We collect it for the purposes described under How we use it, keep it for the periods described under How long we keep it, and disclose it only to the categories of recipients described under Who we share it with. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months, and we do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not collect sensitive personal information through this website.

Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States and this site is intended for restaurant brands and operators here. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the information you give us is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. We rely on your request as the basis for that transfer when you contact us, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries and keeping the site secure. You have the rights listed above, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where consent is our legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

Children

This website is for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

How the GuestMetric platform handles data

This section is a plain-language summary for guests, employees and anyone evaluating GuestMetric Vision, GuestMetric Voice or GuestMetric Intelligence. The detailed terms are in the agreements between Tekmaze and each customer.

  • We work for the restaurant. The restaurant brand or operator that installs GuestMetric is the business responsible for the data; Tekmaze processes it as their service provider, only for the purposes they instruct and permit. Questions about a specific restaurant's use of GuestMetric, including requests about your own data, should go to that restaurant or brand. We help our customers respond.
  • No facial recognition and no biometrics. GuestMetric Vision measures zones, movement, service events and time: how many people are in a queue, how long it takes to reach the cashier, whether an order was picked up. It does not identify individuals, does not match faces, and does not collect biometric identifiers such as face geometry, fingerprints or voiceprints. Our full statement is in Legal Notices.
  • Voice is processed on-site. GuestMetric Voice recognizes and analyzes speech on an appliance inside the location and sends only structured results, such as "greeting given" or "complaint acknowledged", to the platform. It does not identify guests by voice, does not use employee voiceprints by default, and does not display full conversations in the normal dashboard. Local recording is off unless an authorized operator enables it where the law and the customer's policies allow. Our full statement is in Legal Notices.
  • Video stays in the store. Camera video is processed on an appliance inside the location. Routine video is deleted locally after 30 days. Only service events and operational data are sent to the cloud platform. A clip is kept beyond 30 days only when a person with permission saves it as part of an incident, and that action is recorded in an audit log. Saved clips are retained under the customer's policy and the applicable law.
  • Access follows roles. Each user sees only what their role and location permissions allow. Franchisor views are aggregated. Employee and incident information is restricted. Important actions leave an audit record.
  • Notices in stores. Our customers are responsible for providing any notices or signage required where they operate. We provide guidance and templates to help them do so.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email where we can, or by a notice on this site.
